Williamsport Volunteer Fire and EMS mission is to prevent the loss of life and to control/reduce the loss of property through fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services and public education. It is our number one priority to provide the best services to all citizens and visitors of Williamsport and surrounding communities.

The Williamsport Volunteer Fire - Emergency Medical Services Company, Inc.. is a moderate sized suburban fire department located along the Potomac River in Williamsport, Maryland. The company, which is made up of a majority of volunteers with supplemental paid staff, provides primary services to 42 square miles to include the town of Williamsport, Maryland, Marlowe, and Falling Waters, West Virginia and other surrounding areas within Washington County Maryland. 30 volunteer firefighters and 25 active support personnel staff the department.
The fire department operations are commanded by three chief officers and four company level officers. The administrative staff consist of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, building and grounds superintendent, and financial director. The fire company operates 1 engine, 1 rescue engine, 1 ladder truck, 2 utility vehicles, 2 advanced life support ambulances and 2 command vehicles to provide protection to the citizens of our response area and surrounding jurisdictions. The department responds to approximately 2500 emergencies a year. Our protection area covers three industrial parks with a great deal of diversity. Two major interstate highways and a number of schools and health care facilities.
The current station is located on Brandy Drive just off of South Conococheague Street in Williamsport. The station is divided into two sections, the operations section is approximately 10,000 square foot facility housing the apparatus and providing modern living quarters for personnel providing them with the comforts of home and the banquet hall is a modern 9000 square foot facility capable of hosting company meetings, fundraising events, large banquets, and weddings. We typically conduct monthly fundraising activities that allow the fire company to operate. Without these fund raising projects we couldn’t meet the financial needs of our operating budget.
